Medpharm Publications was founded in 1988 and now publishes 11 widely read academic journal titles, reaching 39 000 health care workers all over South Africa in print and even more online all over the world.
Passionate about medical and pharmaceutical publishing, South Africa and Africa, Medpharm believes that South African opinion leaders and researchers can make a significant regional contribution to international medical, pharmaceutical, nursing and dietetic literature.
The Medpharm journals are truly South African:
- They are the official mouthpieces of various SA professional societies and national congresses
- All the peer reviewed scholarly journals earn research subsidies for academic departments with the Department of Education
- We publish peer reviewed, original research and reviews written by South African opinion leaders and researchers

Medpharm employs ten full time staff members including a receptionist, an operations manager, an accountant, a layout artist/copy editor, a graphic designer, four sales executives and a medical doctor.
